Day 9 - Paris

Helllllooo Paris!

We took the train from Centraal Station in Amsterdam to Paris du Gare Nord. It took about 3 hours and we cruised through Belgium which was pretty cool! I took the time to write a blog post and read my book and that quickly turned into an unplanned nap. I woke up and we had arrived in Paris!

It took another half hour to get to our hotel. but we made it and its amazing! We are around the corner from an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower and all the amenities are luxe. The front desk was so friendly during our check in process and gave us tips for places to see around the area, an overview of what their services are and directions to the pharmacy which was first on our list after dropping our bags in our room.

Before I go on, let me tell you about this hotel. Besides the location, it offers a full breakfast in the morning, a game room equipped with a pool table, cozy seats and board games, a sauna and Hamman, an "honesty bar" where you can make your own cocktails and let them know what you drank and a gorgeous lounge area to read or write a blog ;)

The hotel is decorated as Old Hollywood, with cute studio lights, Marilyn Monroe photographs and even tiny star lights embedded in the showers. We really love this hotel.

After dropping our bags, we went to the pharmacy to get our COVID passes which are required if you want to enter museums, restaurant etc. It was an extremely easy process, we showed our vaccination cards and ID's and the woman printed off a unique QR code for us to use. Easy as pie and we can use it when we go to Italy too!

After business was settled, we grabbed a bite to eat at a bistro around the corner and visited the Eiffel Tower. It's magical to put it simply. We stayed in the area, enjoyed the gardens nearby, walked to the Seine across the street where there were vendors selling all kinds of snacks, grabbed churros and enjoyed the view.

It was a lovely first day, not much was done for sightseeing but we have plenty of time to do that this week!

Au revoir mon amies! Happy travels!

Hi! I'm Keely!

Hailing from a small town in the smallest state, my husband Sam and I quit our 9-5 jobs and decided to follow our dream to see the world! We love to find hidden gems, eat delicious food and stretch our dollar (euro/yen/whatever!) so we can indulge on unforgettable experiences. Come down the rabbit hole with us!
