Day 5 - London

We made it to our last full day in London. It went by so fast!

It wasn't a terribly exciting day but it was low kay and welcomed after going going going for a while. Today, we needed to run some errands, laundry, get COVID tested for our flight tomorrow, book excursions for Amsterdam etc.

First things first was finding a laundry-mat which luckily was close by to our hotel. While the wash was going, we grabbed coffee and walked around Notting Hill. With the laundry switched over and an hour to spare, we grabbed a quick lunch at McDonalds - cheap, fast and close by. We've been spending a lot more money than we anticipated here in London, while a lot of the attractions are free, the food and drinks are EXPENSIVE. So today, we needed to be mindful of our spending.

Once that was settled, we hopped the tube and went towards Westminster Abbey, in hopes we could visit inside - which we could but for 27 pounds per person, which translates to around $70. I was shocked because I had read you could visit for free :( We tried to visit House of Parliament which was closed due to restorations so we decided to just grab our tests and return to our hotel before our dinner reservations.

After catching up on social media and promptly testing negative (yay!) we hopped back on the tube (sometimes it feels like we live there) and made our way to Del74 for Taco Tuesday.

We walked into a tiny restaurant decked out in funky décor and plants, a clean bar and a window to where you could see the cook chef-ing up all the things that made it smell so good in there. We grabbed a small pitcher of lime margarita to split- do yourself a favor and just order individual margaritas instead, we ended up paying more for less margs - lesson learned. None the less, they were DELCIOUS. We ordered two pulled pork tacos to split, chips and bottomless salsa and 2 quesadillas (steak and cheese). By FAR this was the best meal we had in London. The food and drinks were excellent, I was sad when the meal came to and end, honestly.

We hit the market on the way home for some English snacks and then relaxed at the hotel until sweet sleep took over. Tomorrow, we are off to Amsterdam. I feel like there is so much left to do here, but I am ready for a change of pace and to see all that Amsterdam has to offer.

Happy Travels my friends :) Keely
