Day 28 - Rome/Sam's Birthday!

It's Sam's birthday!!! We woke up this morning to say goodbye to our sweet friend. Our time came and went so quickly but the time we had was amazing. After a big tight hug and blessings of safe travels, Sam and I fell right back asleep.

We woke up still tired from the days before, our legs tingly and feet aching. I asked Sam if he would like to check out Pompeii, privately hoping he just wanted to take it easy. I would have done whatever he wanted to do, but luckily he wanted an easy going day. So we decided to have a day of rest. We got ourselves decent for breakfast and filled up on pancakes and pastries and then head back to the room.

After verifying with Sam this is what he actually wanted about a dozen times, I suggested we binge watch The Hobbit movies, all generously provided by Netflix. So we bunkered down for the day, stopping only to run across the street and grab KFC for lunch and snacks later on. We watched all three movies. It was the laziest of days, and just what we both needed and wanted.

I feel so lucky to have someone who is perfectly okay with spending a whole day eating junk food and binge watching movies. This man who is my very best friend, my adventure partner, my love. 27 years around the sun and every passing year tops the last. Wishing my husband the happiest of birthdays. I love you always, Sammy.
