Day 19 - Beaune/Nice

Our last day in Beaune!

We said bye for now to the lovely country and headed towards the beach! We couldn't wait, especially since the weather was promised to be in the 60's!

Our day was essentially spent traveling all day long. We packed up our bags rolled them down the cobblestones and to the train station and boarded our first train which was going to take about 2 hours. From there, we transferred to another train which would take us all the way to Nice in about 4 hours.

We spent the time on the train reading, playing games on our phones, playing 'Just Married' Mad Libs which has us cackling, and using my activity pad filled with word games, crosswords etc. (which I am so grateful I brought) and watching France pass us by.

The landscapes changed from country homes, to rolling hills, to rocky mountains and then finally the beach. The sun was setting as our train careened down the tracks changing the sky to pinks and purples and the sea mixing in with its beautiful shades of blue. The color of the water here is unlike any we have seen.

We pulled into the station, found our hotel 3 minutes down the road, and threw our bags in our room. We were starving. We practically ran to the nearest fast food place and indulged. Somehow after doing practically nothing all day except sit, we were exhausted. Why does traveling do that to you?

So we went back to the hotel to settle in for the night with the promise to go to the beach tomorrow.

Good night my dears!

Hi! I'm Keely!

Hailing from a small town in the smallest state, my husband Sam and I quit our 9-5 jobs and decided to follow our dream to see the world! We love to find hidden gems, eat delicious food and stretch our dollar (euro/yen/whatever!) so we can indulge on unforgettable experiences. Come down the rabbit hole with us!
